Profile: Addressee custom show in view but not in edit

I'm trying to have addressee custom in a profile.

If you search using the profile and click on view you see the value for addressee custom.  If you click on edit, the field is blank, even though there is a value.  All the other fields, like household name show a value in the edit screen.

Am I missing something?

I'll answer my own question.  Yes, I am missing something; though, it's a bit subtle.

You have to also have addressee which gives the type, (predetermined or custom).

Well, I guess you really only need addressee, which gives both fields.

This also seems to the case with postal and email greetings as well.
