html5 geoposition and canvassing

I was hoping there would be a way to develop a non-native app for mobile devices that would assist canvassers in locating the relevant addresses on their door-knocking list from CiviSurvey. It turns out that html5 has support for geoposition - http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_geolocation.asp. Anyone else interested in developing this kind of stuff?
