Unsubscribe URL should show groups being unsubscribed from
April 06, 2008, 04:21:58 pm
When a contact goes to the unsubscribe URL the page does not display the name of the groups that he or she would be removed from. It would be a nice feature if it did and even more, show all the groups the user is subscribed to with an option to unsubscribe from any of them.

Actually the user is unsubscribing from ALL the groups attached to a mailing, which may be one or more and hence we avoid showing the name of the group(s) to avoid confusion (to a large extent, the user is more interested in not receiving an email of that "type" in the future, or potentially no email at all from the org). So i'm not sure whether exposing an user to the group(s) they are subscribed to is helpful (especially for the non-technical users who dont know or care as to what a group means)

For logged in users, the information as to what group(s) they are part of is available as part of the User Dashboard. They can join/rejoin/quit from any of the public groups of the organization. We do need contacts to have a valid drupal account in this case.

Our groups are not visible on the user's dashboard so I still think a confirmation page listing the groups being unsubscribed to would be a nice to have feature.

Dennis:

can you please file an issue for this. We'll consider implementing it in a future 2.x release
