Profile Listings Appearing When Logged in as Super User, But Not Public
September 09, 2013, 06:41:28 am
When logged in as a super user, I can see profile listings I've made available on the frontend of my site.  When not logged in, I can't see them.  I've gone to Joomla access control and set the applicable profile settings to "Allowed", but when I try to view the profiles, I still get an error message.  When I go back to Joomla access control, the permissions are back to the settings they were prior to my change.

It feels like there's a simple thing I'm missing but I can't figure it out.  Any help would be appreciated.  Using Joomla 2.5.11 and CiviCRM 4.3.5.

i would ensure that the profile settigs are saved in joomla access control.I suspect civi is following those settings and thus denying the request

might want to do a search on the forums about joomla permissions and the assets table. I think a few folks have copied over clean settings. We basically hand this off to joomla, so dont know that aspect of the code well

Lobo, you're right, Civi is following those settings.  Every time I change them and save the changes, they don't save.

I found a number of other similar topics:

There's also a Jira ticket for the issue that was closed as unreproducible: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-12366

I suppose this could be a Joomla issue but I don't have it with other components.

Any thoughts?

How many Groups do you have in your Joomla ACL? I had a similar problem that I was able to work-around by reducing the number to Groups to less then 12. I now have 11 groups, and I can change/save civiCRM permission settings, but I can't access a profile menu unless I'm logged in, even with everything except for the reserved items set to 'allowed' for both the guest and public groups.
