Blank Dashboard in Joomla
April 07, 2008, 04:29:04 am
Hi,
Ive been reading thru the forumns with no luck. I have just installed civicrm 2.0 on joomla 1.15. It installed successfully. When i click on any of the civicrm options through component panel, i get a blank page with no error. I am running php 5 and mysql 5.

Please help if you can....

I am not a Joomla user, but can you check your apache logs for some kind of fatal error? And is there a Joomla log that you can check?

tail /var/log/apache/errors
But it depends on your system?

What are your php settings for:
memory_limit
max_execution_time

I'd recommend a minimum of 32mb (preferably more) and 300, respectively.
Blank pages usually mean a timeout.

Hi thanks for your replies.
Here is the info from my php.ini
memory_limit = 128M
max_execution_time = 600
Will find right logs for you shortly
Anything else I need to look for?

Those settings look fine. What subversion php 5 are you running. As I recall, 5.2.0 had some bugs. Definitely check your error logs.

Another thing that could lead to a white page is if too many processes are running on the hosting account. Are you using shared hosting? VPS? Dedicated? Track down your process manager and see if there are old processes cluttering things. I just had this issue on a shared hosting account, and killing old processes resolved the issue and improved performance.
