Custom fields don't get updated

I've found a problem in 4.4 Beta 2 where 'Inline' custom fields do not save.  That is, you can enter data in them and hit save, but nothing gets saved.  100% reproducible in the 4.4 sandbox - look for a custom set called 'Date/Status/Local Government' for students, and a student called Andrea Smith.  Oddly, 'Tab' custom fields are OK. 

I notice the sandbox is at Beta3, so problem is in both Beta2 and Beta3

I have checked this here: http://sandbox.drupal.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&cid=202 and it is working as expected. I was able to save "Constituent Information" custom fields.

Sorry about the delay in replying.  Indeed on the sandbox all is OK.  But on my freshly converted 4.4 system, which upgraded without a  hitch, the problem is there 100%.  You can update these inline custom fields using the summary screen edit and the edit is saved, but if you click 'Edit' and go into the full screen edit and make changes, hit save, then the data is not saved at all.

Anything I can do to track his down?

I repeated this custom field (inline) update test in Beta3 and it worked OK, no problem.   :D
