What's the best way to demarcate gifts from matching employees's employers?

1) Create a separate organization listing for the employer, tie a relationship to the individual, enter soft credit to individual on the contribution?

or

2) Enter it as a contribution from the individual with notes in the contribution and somehow exclude from year-end receipting?

or

something else I can't conceive of.

I completely agree and hoped the feedback would indicate it this way, as it's what I've been asking for from our Development/Finance folks!!
