Editing Event fields autofilled, causing problems
April 07, 2008, 11:53:01 am
So desperate for help here, if anyone can?
When logged into CiviCRM and registering someone for a currently created event, it shows another attendees info (which is the same person every time). Deleting the fields and adding a new person causing problems. Plus resending confirmation emails shows them to be from that same attendee and not the email I set. Any ideas why would be so appreciated.

Thanks

What version of CiviCRM are you using? Which CMS (Drupal or Joomla)? What URL are you starting from when registering the person?

Hey Thanks for replying,
Sorry, it's 2.0.1. We're using it in Drupal. Not sure what you mean by what URL am I starting from. When I'm logged in, I go to the event from the users side and click register to bring up the registration form for the event. Once there, all the fields are filled in with another person's info. If I log out, and go back to the reg form the fields are empty. But I think this problem is connected to another problem we're having. When changing the status of someone from pending to registered and I check email confirmation. The email sent is showing as being sent by the person who was in the autofill from before. Very strange.

Ok - sounds like you're taking about the the event registration form (http://<drupal_root>/civicrm/event/register?id=x&reset=1). If you are logged in, those "user side" pages will always prefill any available information from the CiviCRM contact record which is "linked" to the logged in user. This is expected behavior - similar to how Amazon.com will "bring back" billing and shipping address info for you when you log in to your account there.

The Event Registration Email Confirmation FROM name and address is administratively configured for each event at Manage Events >> Configure >> Online Registration in the "Confirmation Email" section of the form. You can see an example of this on the demo site (after logging in w/ user=demo and pw=demo):

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/event?reset=1&action=update&id=1&subPage=Registration

Thanks, that seems to be it! I knew it had to be something simple, just wasn't sure how :-)
