smart group based on aggregates
September 18, 2013, 10:56:32 am
Is there a way to create a smart group based on aggregate contributions? For example we need a group of contacts that have donated more then $1000 over the last year.

Hi there,

I believe that's possible if you install the Summary Fields extension:
http://civicrm.org/blogs/jamie/progressive-technology-project-release-summary-fields-extension

Note that if your forum profile is accurate, and you're still running CiviCRM 4.2.1, you'll need to upgrade to 4.3 before you can install that extension.

Thank you, this looks promising. We do have Civi Version 4.3.4, so we have to install the extension? Where do we install that at?

No extension may be necessary to create a smart group.

The "Contribution Aggregate" search may suit your needs.

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/search/custom/list?reset=1

After running the search, you can create a smart group of the results.
