Permissions for donor to edit recurring
September 20, 2013, 10:37:29 am
Hi,

CiviCRM newbie. Trying to get my mind around how to let a donor / contributor view, edit, and delete a recurring contribution. I've been searching for an option in the docs (read a few times!) and forum, and haven't found anything specific...

I can get them to the contact dashboard, which shows both past contributions and recurring ones. However, any click on the link to view / edit / cancel comes up with a permissions error.

I tried turning this on editing for civicontribute in Drupal level permissions,  but that lets anyone modify any donation by changing the crid= paramater in the URL. Ouch.

Two questions:
1) Is this scenario even possible?

2) If so, is there a recipe for a solution? I've been messing around with ACLs, profiles, and such but haven't found a formula that works yet.

thanks in advance.

Civi does not have a great interface for the end user to edit/cancel past contrib and recurring ones. For some PP's (i think authorize.net) we do allow folks to cancel a recurring contribution only. But for most other PP's we expect them to login to the PP account (paypal). You might want to check the JIRA issue tracker for more specific details

In general might be a good project to provide a nice frontend for recurring contributions. Seems it might be a bit processor specific but a step forward is better than no-step at all. Any chance you/your org can take a look at this and contribute code towards it
