Problem with CRM-10397? (Pay Later improvements)

I have been looking at the code changes for this as I was wanting to do something similar for the Receipt Message for online memberships.

I could easily be wrong (very, very new to coding) but it seems to me that the effect this will have on plain text emails has been ignored.

I have not been able to check out what does happen because of http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,30054.msg128752.html#msg128752.

JoAnne, I think you may be correct & I suspect there might be other instances of it (will wait & see the response) but I wouldn't let that hold you back from the piece you are working on as it the fix for the other should also apply to your fix & your piece doesn't seem to make it worse.

In my "spare" time, I want to have a go at 'fixing' this.  For someone who knows what they are doing I am sure it is a trivial thing, perhaps 5 minutes of their time, but please could it be left for me?

My thoughts are :

  • not too much to do for the set up pages  - just add back in the text only field with a new name.
  • The receipts would need to be altered so that the correct field was used for plain text and for Html parts of the message templates.
