Where can I find redirect to database emails
September 22, 2013, 07:18:41 pm
on the demo site and in 4.4 beta3 when setting up outbound email I can choose redirect to database and the help says "all emails will be recorded as archived mailings instead of being sent out".  Anyone know where are they are archived?

Thanks Lobo.

Is it worth adding that to the explanation on the settings page or is it only the very inexperienced like me who won't know where to look?

It is definitelyt worth adding the explanation on the settings page, would you be able to do that?

I will definitely do this.

However, although it would take less than 5 minutes for most people, for me it is the first venture of a non-techie into patches.  I will need to get an account on github.com and work out how to use it.

So please be patient if it takes longer than you would expect.  It will be done.

from what i understand, you are keen to go thru the PR process and the beauty of git and civicrm et al? right?

if so, we can be very patient :)

if u'd rather not, there are other ways of getting your suggestions in (like filing an issue and putting the help text in the description etc)

Yes, I definitely want to do it all myself.  I have already created my github account.

So I have submitted a pull request.

Please let me know if I messed it up somehow.  (I think perhaps I didn't put the explanation of what it is in the correct place.)

  • CiviCRM version: Always the latest!
  • CMS version: Drupal 6 mostly, still evaluating 7.
  • MySQL version: Mix of 5.0 / 5.1 / 5.5
  • PHP version: 5.3, usually on Windows

Fyi the archived mailings also appear in the UI in the same place that civimail mass mailings appear, under civimail - archived mailings. But it doesn't hurt to have the extra help text.

Possibly the shortest-lived 'successful' patch in history ( http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-13442).

Still, it served its purpose in that for this non-techie the process of submitting a patch has been demystified.

I think patch contribution is the most important aspect. The patch lifetime is just an annoying distraction :P
