says file must be csv but it already is!

I get the message "input file must be in csv format" even though the file I'm trying to upload is! I took an excel sheet, saved it as a csv, and now it won't upload. What do I have to do?

Few things I will like to know

1) which version of CiviCRM are you using
2) can you attach your csv file, so that we can use it for testing (the csvs we normally use, works fine..  that's why, it will be great to have the specific CSV)

Thanks
Manish

Lili, are you based in Europe ?

the csv is a standard with different separators, and for instance "," is the default separator in the US, but ";" or tab in europe (not sure if the location is the key determinant, or just half random variation based on the software you use).

Try opening the csv with a text editor, to see what's inside for real.

You should be able to define the separator char in your program, can't you ?
