[SOLVED] How to export a record with custom field from membership tab...
September 25, 2013, 10:56:41 am
I want to export records that have the following fields:

Sort Name
Memberships > custom_note

I have looked in other posts but am not able to find the method to do this. Is it possible?

I can select specific records that match some criteria in the custom_note within the Membership tab within a record, but so far, I am not able to export multiple records with the information entered into the custom_note within the Membership of a given record.

Anyone?

I would investigate and see if you can potentially do this with the views integration in drupal

So, to clarify...
  • There is not a simple export setting I'm missing in CiviCRM - it just does not exist, correct?
  • Using Drupal Views would be similar to writing a script to extract the fields from the database directly, correct?

I'm assuming u tried the membership export and it did not do what u needed

no, drupal views is all UI driven (u can use hooks etc to tailor it for your needs)

You can definitely export custom fields 'used for' Memberships from Find Memberships > Export > Select fields for export (at least on the latest versions).

[SOLVED]

Exporting from the MEMBERS tab is exactly what I wanted. I had not tried that. Thanks.

I was only trying to export the members from the SEARCH records page - when selecting the fields I wanted to export, the custom_field was not visible. When exporting the records from the MEMBERS tab does show the custom_field(s).

Thank you Donald. I can't believe I missed that.
