Trouble granting write access
September 26, 2013, 03:34:37 pm
I am installing CiviCRM on my Wordpress site.  I have all my username/password, etc information correct to get it going.  However, it says I still need to:  "The user account used by your web-server - xxxxxxxxxxxx - needs to be granted write access to the following directory in order to configure the CiviCRM settings file:
//homepages/x/xxxxxxxxx/htdocs/xxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/files.  I am using the 1&1 dashboard and cannot find the "files" folder under plugins.  What am I not understanding?

FYI, we strongly advise people to use non-shared hosting for civicrm. civi uses a fair bit of resources and requires a decent amount of RAM and CPU. Using a dedicated civi hosting provider like civihosting.com or civisites.com is highly encouraged.

u might want to create the 'files' directory under plugins and give the web server write access to it
