I created a contribution page and added a profile to it.
The profile settings specify 'civicontribute' as well as 'profile', but when I log out and try to visit the contribution page, i get this error

Quote
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
The requested Profile (gid=3) is disabled, OR it is not configured to be used for 'Profile' listings in its Settings, or there is no Profile with that ID. Contact the site administrator if you need assistance.

when i tried the default gid=1 profile, I got the same error too.

any help?
thanks

If you're running CiviCRM in Drupal - be sure you've assigned the "profile listings and forms" permission to the anonymous role - as documented here:

having the same problem here with people that login from one specific network. Can't reproduce the error myself. Even if they use my own login information, they're still getting this error. So it can't be a permission thing.

the same user/pass works for you, but not for people logging in from one specific network?

do they have cookies disabled by any chance?

can they login and perform other civicrm operations while logged in as admin

found out what it was. We changed the URL from the site (we didn't move the site, but we started using a second URL for the same site). We did change the settings within civicrm admin, but didn't change the URL within civicrm.settings.php
Somehow the firewall from that specific network didn't like that. While the others ones didn't care.
