SMTP Email Error for Paid Events Confirmation Receipt

Hi there, we're very close to launching a new CiviCRM/Wordpress website for our client and we're getting the EMTP email error whenever someone tries to register for a paid event. In all other instances (free event, membership sign up, reminders, etc) the mail functionality works perfectly so I know that the issue doesn't lie with the email settings.

We're using Civi 4.3.4, Wordpress 3.6.1

The email address is good, and as I said free events get the correct email receipt. It's just paid events that throw the error.

can u check and ensure that the from address on the pages are exactly the same across all the pages. Seems like there is a problem with one of the email addresses and hence the smtp rejection

I have checked that and both the paid and free events have the same Confirm From Email address. This is what makes it strange - the free events work fine, but paid events don't. Also, all other receipts and confirmations are working correctly.

can u upgrade to 4.3.7 and see if that helps (i dont think so)

your next step would be to add some debugging code to the mail code and see why its returning the error code

We're planning on doing the upgrade here shortly, but I agree that it probably won't help.

Can you give me the debugging code and let me know where it goes? I'd like to get to the bottom of this for our client.

You can put in a php backtrace command at the point where the error message is spit out (you can find this via grep)

you'll need some php experience and debugging skills to track this down.
