Changing additional participants?

A client posed this question to me, and I wondered if other folks had similar experiences/thoughts to share:

A representative for a company will buy a table (i.e. 20 tickets) for an event.  They'll register the names of all the people attending as additional participants.  Then, 5 of those people will cancel, and the rep will want to register 5 different participants.  Is there a way to do this through the web, rather than having the rep e-mail us a list of names?
