Add Post Option Disappearing
October 10, 2013, 08:43:28 am
Hey guys I have tried different versions of Civi and Wordpress on a new site but every time I try to add a new post the visual editor disappears when Civi is enabled.  I have deleted all other plugins, tried different versions of both, this is a brand new site so I have tried playing around to get it to work but nothing seems to fix it.  I have included a screen shot to show what appears and what doesn't.  Does anyone know of any conflicts that could cause the issue?  I have been searching for answers for a week and have found nothing.

I've been using CiviCRM and WordPress for about 1.5 years and have used a number of WordPress and CiviCRM versions.  I have never encountered this exact problem.  However, I've had plugins (e.g TinyMCE Advanced) that when combined with CiviCRM mess up the visual editor.

Looking at the the WordPress sidebar in your image, I see a number of nonstandard items that are from plugins such as Visual Form Builder.  There are also items that are either from your theme or plugins such as Testimonials, Services and Programs.  You said you disabled all other plugins.  That leaves your theme as the possible source of conflict with CiviCRM and the visual editor.

I suggest you try a bare-bones WordPress install using one of the stock themes such as Twenty Thirteen and with no plugins install except CiviCRM.  Verify that the visual editor works.  Then install your theme and see if that breaks the visual editor.  If it does then your theme is not compatible with CiviCRM.

BTW, I use the latest version of Canvas from Woo Themes.
