Wordpress & CiviCRM Cron for Newbies
October 10, 2013, 12:41:55 pm
I have installed CiviCRM 4.2.10 within my wordpress 3.6.1 installation and am trying to automate the scheduled task "Process Inbound Emails". I can run it manually from inside Civi-CRM though I would like to create a cron job that runs it hourly. After a bit or reading I went to the admin panel provided by our online host company. I created a cron job and set it to run hourly. The only thing I can't see to figure out via the manuals nor the forum entries is what should be included in the command line box for the cron job. I have gleaned that it needs to be a path to the php file. I was under the impression that "Process Inbound Emails" utilized a function called Email2Activity.php though I cannot find it within the installation. I attempted to direct it to cron.php hoping that it would just run whatever jobs were enabled. That did not seem to work. I am new to this and appreciate any help. Thanks!

You need to execute only cron.php and that runs all the cron jobs. Perhaps ask your host for assistance because different hosting control panels provide different methods of making cron jobs.
