Looking for references - mid-size 501c3 educational nonprofit

We're considering using CiviCRM/Drupal to for everything - it looks like a good fit, but we're concerned about the fact that we might be pushing the limits of CiviCRM and all of its components. We've got:

  • ~3,000 members with anniversary renewals
  • a large conference that spans three days with dozens of registration classes, types, and options (this will require customization)
  • regular targeted email blasts to all members, event attendees, or subsets of both
  • complicated business practices on the user end - ideally members would maintain their data, register for events, and send invoices to business offices for payment
  • a big floppy brochure site that we would like to turn into a flexible role-based community maintained resource

We know that Drupal/CiviCRM can "do" these things, but we need to know that there are people out there happily doing it. Any volunteers?

Here are some places to look for references:

Showcase: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/board,4.0.html
I know there are good membership / renewal implementations, email blasts.
Hardest for references will probably be the big conference stuff... check with Bioneers.

Case Studies: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Case+Studies

You'll probably have to get more specific on the community website requirements and those will likely be more involved with Drupal.

Finally, most of the complex implementations are done by consultants, the end customer doesn't really hang out in the forums. Check with Advomatic, CivicActions and Trellon for their cutomers' experiences.
