Creating a new menu link to view/edit/create or search profiles breaks the page in Joomla 3.1.5 - seemingly by stopping the loading of much of the markup. Looking at the source code it seems to be immediately after the 'select profile' label (see attached). The menu items other than these four work fine for me - as does everything else so far.

I'm really sorry - I don't really have the skills (I'm just a front-end dev)..
 
Joomla debugging doesn't bring up anything (as the page never gets to load that far).

Profiles do run fine everywhere else - including in front end contributing pages etc. Disabling all the profiles doesn't remove the bug so I would hazard a guess it's something to do with the menu form rather than the profiles themselves.

I' sure hope you are right. I would like to use civiCRM, but have not been able to implement it yet. Since my site is a Joomla 3.1.x site, and I don't have the programming skills needed to fix this issue, I'm forced to wait.
