DB Error: no such field
October 14, 2013, 08:53:49 am
Hi

I have an installation Joomla 2.5 CiviCRM 4.3.5 and when I try and add an organisation I get:

Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
DB Error: no such field
Return to home page.

Can someone point me in the right direction for the settings that would sort this please, I have had a look but am having trouble working out what to change that won't break what I have got.

Thank you

Hi

Having looked at this again, I have 5 sets of custom fields for an Organization. The organization tab saves without the fields enabled.

How can I find out which field/fields may be at fault, without trial and error?

Thanks

Hi

I have disabled all of my custom fields sets and have tried to add a new set and I am getting the same error 'DB Error: no such field'  when I am trying to add a custom field set. (The custom set saves as it has the same behaviour as I have described below.)

As the custom set is now saved I am adding custom fields to this set and I get the following:
When I try and save I get the 'DB Error: no such field' but if I then use the back button and submit the data again I get a message to say that this item already exists in the database.

Also when I want to delete a custom field I get the same error but the field is not deleted.

There is a message on editing a custom field that this is a beta product, does this apply the whole of the custom field section? Also does this section use triggers as I am waiting for the database user to be updated so that it will run triggers. (Need the host to do this as the user does not have permission to set Grant)

Thanks

yes, that section does use triggers

you can get the exact error message in the CiviCRM.*.log file which should be available under your files directory
