views 3 filter phone primary changes all output to filter condition

When I try to filter for phone_primary = true the out put even for the records showing false (when no filter used) are changed to true. Reverse the filter condition to false and all show false. This also changes output for phone_type and other phone fields to that of the primary true phones values. The phone number stays what it should be - doesn't change.

Spent enough time on this. Will do further filtering at template level. If anyone has solution with in the views module would like to hear it.

Thanks
