Upgrading 3.4.7 to 3.4.8: civicrm_root problems
October 20, 2013, 04:28:21 pm
I'm trying to upgrade civi to the 3.4.8 before upgrading to 4.0 (on D6) and gave it a whirl, but got error message:
"Oops! - The path for including CiviCRM code files is not set properly. Most likely there is an error in the civicrm_root setting in your CiviCRM settings file "

The path listed after is correct though, works with current Civi and checks out. It does contain a symlink (which I tried to just hard-code in the settings file as well) but still is correct.

Is there something simple I'm missing?

Not sure. Perhaps try the 4.0 upgrade directly and see what happens.

I've been using the settings_location.php in my civicrm root to solve problems like this, not sure if it applies in your case.

The code that finds civicrm root and the cms code is tricky by nature (i.e. it has to work with lots of different CMSs, each one of which has multiple ways to be configured), and also has some nasty debt to pay, I would say.
