Problem with displaying Events in Joomla! 2.5
October 21, 2013, 08:42:41 am
Hello Guys!

I have a huge problem with displaying my events from civicrm on my joomla website :-(
Everytime i go to a menu item and want to give it a menu type it doesn`t work.
So if i try to take "event information" page for example it only makes a ical data download of the event by klick on the menu item.
The only thing that will work is "event listing"....? what is going wrong?

Please help me :o

can you give more specific details. I clicked on this menu item, got this list of options etc

might also want to try and do something similar on our joomla demo. this might help isolate the issue to a local install or potentially  a civi bug

Hi Lobo,

i want to make a  new menu item in my Joomla! installation.
I make the item and choose for example Event Information Page (see in the screenshot)
Now i choose an event and store it.
I go to the frontend an go to the menu button.
When i click on the button, it starts the ical download of the event.

Cheers Mike

I'm having a similar problem since I did an upgrade from 4.2 to 4.4. Initially Ical-files where downloaded instead of event info showing. However, that seems to have healed itself, some caching maybe?

Now I have the problem that event listings in the front end does not show anything.

Since it is not possible to create a menu item in the demo I simply copied the generated URL as shown in my installation when creating the menu item and pasted that in an URL to the demo site. And exactly as in my upgraded site the listing is empty, or rather the page is empty.

The URL generated is : index.php?option=com_civicrm&view=Events&layout=eventlisting&html=1&page=1

And here's the complete URL to the demo : http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&view=Events&layout=eventlisting&html=1&page=1

I don't know if the URL is correct or what the problem is.

I'm seeing the exact same thing....since upgrading to 4.4 the event listing page doesnt show anything even though the events should be listed (dates, access, and settings are correct)

I'm also having this problem with Joomla 3.1.5, Civi 4.4. My event listing module shows no events.

You mention that this issue is fixed in 4.4.1; is that available to install? If so...how?

Thanks in advance!

I spoke too soon. I was able to replace the entire code in:

/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/CRM/ACL/BAO/ACL.php

with the code found at:

https://github.com/ravishnair/civicrm-core/blob/b1f4e63799958446b4d1d97ea792f92ecc863123/CRM/ACL/BAO/ACL.php

My events list is showing now.

Thank you!
