Error using Profile Shortcode
October 26, 2013, 10:01:01 pm
Hi there. First, thank you for CiviCRM.
I am using the current versions of WordPress and CiviCRM.
I have created a profile, called Board members that I want to use a profile listing for all board members of our organization. The listing is showing by direct link:

http://democraticfuture.org/board/?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/profile&force=1&search=0&gid=14

But does not work when trying to use a shortcode on a Page.

http://democraticfuture.org/board/

I have double and triple checked the ACLs for the profile, the groups, the fields and it still doesn't appear.

I receive this error when trying to view anonymously:

"Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
Could not find the required contact id parameter (id=) for viewing a contact record with a Profile."

I receive this error when logged in as the administrator:

Permission Denied You do not have permission to view this contact record. Contact the site administrator if you need assistance.

I'd like to not have to directly link to the URL because there is text I would like to insert above the listing and add some images/links, etc. That doesnt seem possible with a direct URL link.

Any ideas on what I might be doing incorrectly? I searched the various forums and I don't see this as a previously documented issue so I am sure I am missing something.

Thanks in advance for your help!

a few questions:

1. how are your creating the short code?

2. Can you try and reproduce the issue on our demo server please

1. Add New Page --> Add CiviCrm Public Pages --> Select FrontEnd Element --> Profile --> Board Members --> select View --> Insert Form.  When it is inserted into the page, the shortcode looks like this:

[civicrm component="profile" gid="14" mode="edit"]

I have tried switching mode="edit" to mode="view" manually (since it doesnt seem to matter if i select view or edit, it always shortcodes to edit) and that doesnt work.

2. on wordpress.demo.civicrm.org?  there is limited functionality there, so i cannot create posts or pages.
