Recurring Payments...
May 28, 2007, 05:23:51 am
I set this choice using the paypal standard.  But when running the test-drive it sends me back to the first page ie choose your email etc in CiviCRM after going through the Paypal interaface.
But when I turn off recurring payments or choose "I want to make a one-time contribution...."  the paypal test-drive process works great though not recurring.  Is this a setting I am missing?

Also I think this other flow would be ideal
1. Click signup page
2. Choose your name and membership level
---here it gets confusing the user needs to choose the "I want to contribute this amount every" Shouldn't this be just done based on the membership type?  Ie by   choosing the Membership type Pay Monthly it sets this up automatically to be done every 30 days?

Integrated "recurring payments for a membership" doesn't exist yet in CiviCRM. You can set up a page which automatically charges a one-time Membership Fee AND also allows the end-user to (separately) make a recurring contribution. However, the two transactions aren't really connected.

To integrate these, you would need to provide a way of configuring the recurring payment schedule as part of a Membership Type. Also, I think functionality to connect a Payment Processor reported recurring contribution to the renewal of a membership would need to be added.

This would potentially be a great community contribution :-)

This sounds behind my expertise technologically but I'd love to have this feature available. Has their been any progress in this direction?
