Upgrading to 4.4 Wordpress 3.7.1
November 01, 2013, 02:45:45 pm
I have done numbers of upgrade of the CiviCRM in the past and has always upgrade just fine.   However,  When trying to upgrade to the 4.4 version,  I am getting a DB Error.  I have already reinstalled the database and reinstall the CiviCRM installation several times.    I have attached an Image of the error it is generating. I am not a programer but am familiar with some coding and database handling.

Could someone shed some light on why there is a DB field already exist and what can I do to correct this.

Thank for all your help

Thanks!

Donnie Moore

most likely you did not have a clean backup and hence this error. You might want to see if u have a clean 4.3 backup and/or wait for 4.4.1 which helps with this specific error

in general, it would benefit you to understand and make a clean backup (and restore) before upgrading

thanx

If your DB has this field, you could try dropping it manually in phpMyAdmin and then try the upgrade. But as Lobo said, making backups is very important.
