Extras.css for front end changes admin area as well
November 02, 2013, 03:45:25 pm
I've been gradually adjusting the 'extras.css' file to tweak the way the front end of our site looks, however I've noticed that the changes take place in the admin area as well.  This is becoming a tad problematic and I'm wondering if there's a way to isolate the css changes to just the front end or to force the defaults in the admin area.

Hi jgowans,

What CMS are you using?  You may want to fill it out in your profile, since it becomes relevant to questions like this!

2 Notes:
1) As of v4.3 most public pages are wrapped in a container with class .crm-public - try using that in your css
2) As of 4.4.1 the extras.css file is deprecated (and will be removed in 4.5). That's not as scary as it sounds, it's actually a really good thing - no more accidentally deleting that file when you upgrade CiviCRM. The new way is to take your extras.css file and put it somewhere outside the CiviCRM directory, then specify its location in Administer -> System Settings -> Resource URLs
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.
