CiviCRM in the Association World

Lobo and Dave,

Just curious -- has CiviCRM done any specific outreach to ASAE (American Society of Association Executives)?
http://www.asaecenter.org/

I think they could be a huge audience for the software. In my past life I used to be involved with them, and I can tell you that complaints about CRM/AMS (Association Management Software) was THE most discussed pain point for many associations. IT-related discussions and sessions are very common at their conferences and events. It would be awesome if CiviCRM got a foot in the door and was able to present there.

Just saw this upcoming event on their site, as an example:

Maybe CiviCRM can do a booth or something at their annual meeting/expo?

List of other AMS/CRM software providers already registered to exhibit:

Brian - We've pretty much relied on word-of-mouth / grass-roots efforts as far as "marketing" CiviCRM goes. We'd like to see consultants / integrators step up over the next few years and promote the platform in their "verticals" - and frankly I think this works better for us as these folks have the domain expertise and the reference clients / sites to showcase.

If there's things we can do (within our limited resources) to help with this - I think we'd happily collaborate. For your specific "vertical" - I could potentially join an online "seminar" or even present / answer questions at a session / interest group in San Diego if you (and /or others) drove it and got something on the agenda.

If other folks have things they'd like to do to help market / spread the word - feel free to jump here :-)

If any other consultants/integrators work in the professional/trade association realm, and plan to be at the ASAE conference or have other connections to that organization, I would be happy to assist in supporting the marketing of CiviCRM to that audience, as I have years of experience working with those groups. I'm not in a position to actually head out to CA for the meeting, but would be willing to help advance CiviCRM in that area.
