Using profile or custom searches for public listing ?
April 11, 2008, 11:37:31 am
Hi,

I'm trying to list some organisations on a public page. I'm trying to use the profiles, and use them on a search.

/civicrm/profile?reset=1&gid=1&force=1&country-Primary=1020

However, I have two issues:

1) It always display the name (name) as the first column even so I didn't put it in the profile
2) It has a "view" link on the last column, that goes to the same profile view for the organisation

I'd like to get rid of the default column(s)
I'd like to link to a detailed view, using a different profile.

Either I'm missing something obvious (that's very possible), or I'm in a dead end.

I'm tempted to go the custom search view. Does it make sense ?

X+

You can fix both 1 and 2 by using a custom template for that profile. This gives you the ability to drop columns and add your own specific link inside the template

Magic !

Happy to report it works both for the full view and the listing.
