Ajax search broken in Joomla 2.5.16 / CiviCRM 4.4.1
November 09, 2013, 03:20:01 am
I just upgraded a site from Joomla 2.5.14 -> Joomla 2.5.16 and then CiviCRM 4.3.4 -> CiviCRM 4.4.1 and I noticed the the ajax search is no longer working.

I could not replicate on the demo civicrm joomla site because it is still on joomla 2.5.11.

Can someone please update it so we can see if the issue is replicated there.

Thanks.

I just verified that on a clean Joomla 2.5.16 site if I install CiviCRM 4.3.8 the Ajax searching works.

If I install CiviCRM 4.4.1 on a clean Joomla 2.5.16 site the Ajax search does not work.

Should be easy enough to replicate.

(What is weird but encouraging is that Ajax searching works just fine on a clean Joomla 3.2 site with CiviCRM 4.4.1)

Did you delete all template cache files?

if u have a copy of both installs, u might want to debug via firebug and see what is happening and why. you can compare the ajax calls in the two systems

can you do a bit more analysis and see what is different between the working / non-working and why. there are very few places that we distinguish in civi with the joomla versions. trying to read thru the above is a bit cumbersome/hard

It's hard for me also plus I am not aware of these few places - perhaps I can setup a live sandbox if someone from civi end is willing to help also.

I could not reproduce this locally with the latest joomla 2.5.16. I used the git version of civicrm and this worked fine. Is this still an issue for you nant?
