WordPress & CRM Initialisation
November 10, 2013, 05:58:04 pm
So I get to the WP Dashboard, click on CiviCRM
in the left-hand pane and get on with filling in
the first screen of requested information:
Quote
CiviCRM » Administer CiviCRM
Organisation Address and Contact Info

I complete that task, click [Save] and bingo:
I'm back at the WordPress dashboard log-in
prompt for a password. (The username was
already showing)

Tried 4-5 times: to no better effect. I seem
to be stuck in a loop and I have no idea why.

Anyone else encountered this dilemma?

Brand new installation
Using version 4.4.0
on WP version 3.7.1

Tried these browsers:
  • Opera
  • FF
  • Chrome
  • Sea Monkey

There might be some misconfiguration in your CiviCRM setup. Can you retry fresh install of CiviCRM. Also do you see any js or css breaks?

The installation is on a third party host: Civihosting. I do
not have the technical competence for that task. Plus the
WP install was a restore from a back-up brought from
another hosting provider. So there are two possibilities
when considering potential causes. I've inquired of Civi
Hosting to see if they have any ideas about what might
be the cause of the problem.

The WP copy restore seems OK. No problems found, so far.

This issue is almost always due to a conflict between the domain name in the browser and that set in CIVICRM_UF_BASEURL. I adjusted yours now, Perry, and I think that should fix it. Let us know if not.
