Paid Event Registration Confirmation Emails not Sent

Joomla 2.5.16

I have an event registration that I am testing with a small group of individuals. I am set to get a copy of all registration confirmations sent by the system. I, and the attendees, are only getting copies of zero value registrations. Any registrations with a monetary value are not sending confirmations to either the attendee or myself.

Currency is Euro, not US Dollar. Payment is through PayPal and the payments are processing properly.

Sending a copy of a confirmation by editing the participation record works. However, when we open general registration next week, I can't be manually sending confirmations out to 250-325 attendees.

Prior to the upgrade, I ran a successful registration for an event in March 2013 (US Dollar) and encountered no issues.

I'd like to know if anyone else is or has experienced this problem?

Are you able to send normal emails using CiviCRM ?

Yes, no problems with email. I can send a copy of the receipt by editing the participant record, but obviously that's impractical to do for every single registration. I can post the log from ConfigandLog somewhere if that would be helpful and tell you which records where paid, unpaid, or were manually sent a receipt.

Are you using a customized online Event receipt?

If so, have you tried restoring to the default system workflow template to see if the problem persists?

No, the receipt is not customized.

How would I restore the Workflow template? I've not heard of this as an option before. I will search the forums for instructions or if you can provide them quickly, I'm happy to try it.

*Only* if you changed (=customized) a system workflow message template, there will appear a link besides the edit button for the template, which is called "revert to default". This might be helpful in case you screwed up something... However, one should be aware that all your template customization will be lost, if that function used.
