Is it possible to have sub-organizations?

Situation-we have donors that are part of a group within an organization. A Sunday school class (or more than one) at a church is a collectively sponsoring a student at our school. I would like to create the organization within the church organization so we can track their individual donations.

Hi - several options

You can create sub-types of Organisation - which really has value when you collect different data concerning eg Churches v Sunday School Class

You can use Relationships to join the Sunday School Class(es) to its Church

Hence if you go to the Relationship Tab of the Church you would see all the SSCs listed that 'relate' to it.

And presumably you can soft credit from the SSC to the Church so you can potentially see the 'total' of donations from the church including all the donations from the SSCs

Not sure the above gets absolutely what you want - but certainly does allow for it
