Civi content in head tags
November 17, 2013, 02:57:42 pm
I have a relatively new Wordpress/CiviCRM installation, we are slowly progressing in getting his set up for membership organization.

When we try and display event signup forms, the form shows up above and outside of the Wordpress content area.  Looking at the source code, the civi form in fact is embedded into the html head section of the page.  Between the opening head tag and the closing head tag.  Why would this be?  I have to confess that I am not a wordpress user.

We have tried switching to a different theme, in case it is a theme issue.  It didn't change anything.

Thanks.

Much that I don't understand about wordpress.....

But I made some progress. In Appearance, Canvas, Static front page, we changed it from Static Front page to Your Latest Posts, and now the civi content correctly shows up inside the site content area.  However a bunch of test blog posts show up below it, and those blog posts show up on every page.

Still missing some very basic wordpress knowledge, I think...

YEs indeeed!  We had an SEO plugin installed, and when we disabled that the civi content started displaying inside the theme.  So, thanks.  We have some more learning to do though.

The problem is that at this point in time, we don't know what's "right".  We've switched back to an unaltered WP them (Customizr).  It seems to work, but there's a bunch of useless WP gunk at the top of every page: a slider talking about creating sliders, customizing live, etc, and some blocks below that with placeholders for Featured Pages.  Below that is our event list, or registration form, or whatever.  Is that WP gunk hard coded into the theme, or do we need to disable this content somewhere, or is it Static Home page settings that need to change?

That works beautifully, Lobo, thanks.  Now we know it's a theme issue, and we have to figure out what's wrong with the original theme and see if it's fixable.

Were you using the "WordPress SEO" plug-in by Yoast?  If so read this http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,29265.msg125770.html#msg125770 about how to change a setting and fix the problem.

Also you mention "Canvas".  Is this the theme from Woo Themes?  We use it with CiviCRM on our website.  I've successfully setup donation and registration pages.  However, we don't use CiviMember.
