Newsletter Content Selection
November 27, 2013, 09:22:59 am
I just watched Michael McAndrew's Modules Unraveled podcastfrom May and he mentioned it might be nice to have some tighter integration between CiviMail newsletters and Drupal content.  Simplenews has a the SimpleNews Content Selection Module https://drupal.org/project/simplenews_content_selection that might be easy to adapt to CiviMail.  It lets you go to the content page in drupal and select a list of content to import into a newsletter.  All is does is stick the formatted content into the body wysiwyg for further editing.  It seems like you could just change the target from a new simplenews newsletter content type to civimail.  It would be particularly nice if you could select a template to place the content into and have it go into a predefined area.

We have been doing some work on a token that can pull a View in to civimail

I am sure Eileen will publish it when we have resolved some remaining css issues with gmail

Is there any update on whether the token creation was successful, or not?

We would really like to be able to select Drupal node content for use in a CiviMail newsletter.

Thanks in advance,

Adam

I'm using the token that Eileen created and it works great. It integrates with Views to pull content.
