Integrating Joomla Login and Registration with CiviMember
November 28, 2013, 05:57:49 am
Hi,

I am having a hard time to find a solution to make CiviCRM membership function work with our Joomla website.

I have taken a look at the plugins provided, tried installing Joomla CiviCRM Membership Authentication and ACL Plugin, Joomla User Registration Restriction and CiviCRM User Synchronization for Joomla, but I can't seem to make anything work and I would really appreciate your guidance and directions:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Joomla+CiviCRM+Membership+Authentication+and+ACL+Plugin

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/civicrm/24662?qh=YToxOntpOjA7czo3OiJjaXZpY3JtIjt9

Basically, we are a new nonprofit organisation and we have offline memberships and with the website we will have frequent donors memberships.

What we would like to do is to allow those offline members and the donors (who have already made a donation through civicontribute) to register and be able to change/update their personal data in civicrm, check their fee or donation due dates, cancel or change frequent donations, etc.

So we would not use the register/login joomla function for new members (therefore we would have to put some forewarning in the login and registration page that it is exclusively for certain type of situations) but to check by email matching if it is an already existing member in civicrm and allow them create an account with a password to get access to their civicrm "account".

We are using CiviCRM 4.4.2 and Joomla 3.1.5.

Thanks in advance.
