Adding a custom field to Personal Campaign Pages

I need to add a custom field to the Personal Campaign Page form.  It needs to be accessible by Views in Drupal.  The field will be called sponsor and it will be attached to each PCP.  Any ideas on how to add this field?

since PCP uses profiles, cant u add a custom field extending the contact and add this custom field to the profile?

I could do this however, what if a user want's to create multiple PCP's and the sponsor is different for each PCP?

i suspect u'll need to extend either core civicrm to add custom groups to pcp and/or do it via an extension with some custom coding
