How to clear Mail Queue civicrm_mailing_event_queue?

Hello all,

I have a clean install and have attempted to send a mailing. The mailing sent approx 7K emails then just stopped.

I have 30K records in my civicrm_mailing_event_queue table. From my research all records within this table are slated to be sent as part of an ongoing mailing.

If there are zero running mailings why would there be any records in the civicrm_mailing_event_queue table?

How do I clean that table up? May I simply empty it and start a new mailing?

I'd be interested in knowing this, too. One of our clients has a mailing_event_queue table that is over 100MB in size and we are concerned about database integrity as we plan the next CiviCRM upgrade. We need to reduce the overall size of the DB and have targeted this table as well as activity_target as tables in need of slimming.

civimail needs a feature to archive (off the DB into text files / archive table) to reduce the size of the tables. Your best bet would be to delete all old mailings.

I suspect this is going to be a big issues for sites using civimail a fair bit, so addressing and solving this problem in the right way would be preferred

Thanks Lobo. Is there any way to 'mass' delete mailings? Another great feature would be the ability to tick off boxes and have an activity drop-down similar to working with contacts. Not sure if this is on the wish list or not (I would think that it is).

no :( But you should be able to script a mass delete via the API

you might want to describe the other feature in  more detail in feature requests and suggestions
