I uploaded my data to civicrm using the External Identifier field as the key to the location of that record in our old system to that I could track any problems back to the source. This is a very nice feature. When you edit an individual record, you can edit the External Identifier field. However you can't edit this field in an organization record. There are some that didn't upload properly, and I want to add the ID number but can't. Is there a way to make it editable?

This is probably some kind of omission - can you please file an issue at http://issues.civicrm.org/.

Well, there is one already at http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-1338.

So I added a comment that the issue is not completely resolved.
