SMS Reminder for Events

Hi,

Does Civicrm has SMS reminder function for events? There is email reminder function, but it would be really nice to have SMS reminder as well.

We are using CIVICRM4.4 + Drupal 7. The SMS extension we are using is https://civicrm.org/extensions/clickatell-sms-provider

Dont think so, but it would be a nice extension to add an SMS reminder option to scheduled reminders

would your org/client be able to contribute code and/or sponsor this functionality. I suspect its a 20-40 hour project

We will sponsor this one as an extension. I think it would be a really nice addition for the community and would be used increasingly as emails become "overwhelming" in terms of quantity.

Could you proceed with that and email me an invoice?

I think the requirements are pretty straight forward ie next/underneath to the question on the "Scheduled reminders" button (http://gyazo.com/9acc455e83415b539cb6d81272176957.png) here

We have a similar one for SMS.


You can proceed on this one immediately as we have a client need for this functionality.

Hi Roland/Lobo,

We're doing this for a client at the moment (adding Scheduled reminders to SMS)
We've also done work to add scheduled reminders to Mailing Jobs to allow tracking and this is an Extension so would look to enhance that. This work was sponsored by both Time to Change and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

We're aiming to have this done before Christmas (in production).

We could look at enhancements to the extension based on what you need and you'd be welcome to sponsor those!
