Sorting columns in user generated Search Views not working
December 02, 2013, 11:58:56 pm
After updating to 4.4.2 (on a Drupal 6 system) the sorting in user generated Search views doesn't work anymore. I tried it on demo.civicrm.org with Drupal 7 as well (with 4.4.3 ...) and I got the same error.

The steps to reproduce the problem:
1) Add a "New CiviCRM Profile"(Administer/Customize Data and Screens/Profiles > Add Profile
I gave it a name "Test profile for search" and Used for "Search View"

2) Add the fields Indivitual/First name, Individual/Last name & Individual/Current employer

3) Now go to Search/Advanced search and change the Search Views to "Test profile for search" and Search

5 > Sorting by Name, First Name & Last name works perfectly. But clicking on Current Employer kind of resets the search and you just get the yellow box at the bottom with the following text:

 No matches found for:
Suggestions:

    check your spelling
try a different spelling or use fewer letters
if you are searching within a Group or for Tagged contacts, try 'any group' or 'any tag'
add a New Individual, Organization or Household
make sure you have enough privileges in the access control system

I'm not sure if it is a bug or something else - the problem is that it was working with the 4.3.x branch ...

thx werner

Really not a bug?

Is no one else having problem with this bug? To me it really looks like a bug in CiviCRM 4.4.3?

Can you test the patch in http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-13907 and see if that fixes it?

Sadly the fix didn't work - after reordering I still get the yellow box with "No matches found for: ...."

Ah, this looks to be a known issue.
