CiviDiscount: Option to apply discounts to additional participants

The CiviDiscount Extension page lists the feature "Option to apply discounts to additional participants" but I am having trouble finding that option.

I am curious if it can be extended (or used out of the box) for a workflow similar to this:
  • First x registrations of a multi-registration are full price (1 or more)
  • Additional registrations (in the same multi-registration session) automatically get a discount applied

Has anyone used CiviDiscount with this feature?

I'm also looking for this option without success.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Or was it an "aspirational feature"?

My use case:

1st registered person pays X
subsequent people registered at the same time each pay X less the discount.

Or I could also work with register 3 people and get x% discount, or 6 people and get y%

No, I don't think we ever found a way to do this and didn't have funding to dig deeper at the time. Sorry!
