Upgrade 3.4 to 4.4 and Drupal 6 to 7… which to do first?
December 07, 2013, 01:35:26 am
I have a Drupal 6 / CiviCRM 3.4 site that I need to upgrade to Drupal 7 / CiviCRM 4.4. I can't seem to find any guidance on which step I should do first. Should I first upgrade CiviCRM 4.4, and then upgrade to Drupal 7, or vice-versa?

There is a blog here https://civicrm.org/blogs/spidersilk/best-practices-upgrading-drupal-6-7-and-civicrm-3-4-same-time that might help.

If this works for you please post back here and I will add a link to the blog post in the upgrade documentation

It somewhat depends how heavy your drupal integration is. I would generally upgrade CiviCRM first

Yes, generally CiviCRM is a lot easier than D6-D7 so I would upgrade CiviCRM first.
