Recommendation for hosting svc, VPS, WP and Civi

Can anyone recommend a reasonably-priced hosting service for a single-entity site that will be using CiviEvent and CiviMail (so doing a good bit of mailing) with a Wordpress 'front end'?  Would like to use a Virtual Private Server for max. efficiency.

Just FYI, I looked at a list of 'top 10 VPS' providers and after reading fine print and footnoted prices (low prices usually involved committing to a year or more) I chose media temple (http://mediatemple.net/) - so far, so good.  They offer a Plesk hosting UI, SSL etc. for $50/month, and their support seems pretty good.
