Problem with USPS integration- data disappears

I signed up with USPS to use their address verification service with civiCRM. Got an email back from them that my test transactions failed. Called them and they said, "we're switching you now to the live production server- everything should be fine". I changed the configuration in civiCRM to the URL for the production server.

Both in testing and with the live production server, when I add a new individual contact on the back end with all address details except zip code and then save it, the city name is removed. If I enter a complete address including zip code, the city name and zip code are removed.

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas/solutions?

since u have a working install of USPS, can you debug it here:

CRM/Utils/Address/USPS.php, function checkAddress

Sory, I'm not an experienced programmer so don't  understand your instructions. Would you kindly be a bit more specific in the steps to take? Thanks!
