Manually change Pledge status to Completed?

We're using CiviPledge it to track the effectiveness of our telefundraising campaign.

I know the pledge status is all hooked up with payments coming in etc, but our accounting system doesn't really cater for using that part. We just want to manually mark the Pledge as Completed when it's completed. This isn't possible out of the box, for good reasons.

Would this be a simple change? Or will it upset the whole system?
