exporting all info related to an event
April 16, 2008, 01:48:39 am
hi , scuse me being lazy but is there an obvious way i can catch all the information related to an event, ie participants, custom data etc, so that it can be used in an offline (filemaker) database?

Not sure if this is what you're asking... but you can export all participant info for an event (including custom participant fields) from CiviEvent >> Find Participants. Search by Event, select Export from -more actions- dropdown.

Note that in 2.1 these "component" exports (Participants, Contributions, Memberships) will also have the "select specific fields and save a mapping" functionality which is currently available for Contact export.

Spot on - didn't realise it would just grab all the custom data as a default (though it makes total sense) and apart from the fact that it dumps all the price field data in to one cell  :(  it does the job, i hope. Seems we have to have this running on FileMaker for some reason that escapes me ???
cheers

Just to say thanks

Just to say thanks to Dave G for letting us know that the "select specific fields and save a mapping" functionality is forthcoming, and to the whole Civi team for implementing it and generally being total stars.
